A client-choice food pantry. Kankakee County where low-income families select food items on a weekly basis. The center assists individuals who are working toward a solution to their challenges by providing donated vehicles and financial assistance for  medicine. Other assistance includes clothing and some donated home furnishings. Caring volunteers also give smiles, hugs, listening ears, encouraging words, and prayers.

Child Network works to improve the response to child sexual and physical abuse and to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the court system. The Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) coordinated law enforcement, state's attorney, and DCFS for the Forensic Interview and provides advocacy services for the victims and their families, while demanding accountability for the crime of sexual abuse. CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a volunteer-based-program that advocates for the best interests of abused in the court. The program helps children find
permanency in their living situation and is dedicated to serve as the child’s voice in court.

Works to alleviate the effects of poverty on families and individuals in Kankakee County. Human Services programs include rental, shelter, water, and mortgage assistance, affordable housing, certified renters, college scholarships, computer training, small business loans, and information and referral. The Energy component provides assistance with heating and electric bills, emergency furnace repair and replacement for homeowners, and weatherization. The Senior Nutrition program combats loneliness and isolation, and promotes independence for older people. Meals are provided in dining rooms and delivered to isolated homebound seniors.

Subsidies are available for income-eligible working families.

YWCA is dedeicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

A major emphasis of the YWCA Kankakee is to provide DCFS licensed child care services for children aged 6 weeks to 13 years. This service is available Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to midnight. Subisides are available for income-eligible working families. The YWCA Kankakee hosts a Preschool for All classroom for 3 to 5 year olds in addition to providing financial literacy programming for adults.
