Kankakee County is located 45 miles south of the city of Chicago on Interstate 57. The Kankakee area can also be reached from Illinois State Routes 45/52, 50, and 17.  Kankakee County is only 75 miles from O'Hare International Airport and 50 miles from Midway International Airport. 

Kankakee County hosts more than 27 festivals each year, with each festival having its own tradition and entertainment.  Visitors to Kankakee County can take advantage of the vast array of dining and lodging options, and enjoy a wide range of award-winning attractions in their leisure time.  Kankakee County residents and visitors take part in a variety of outdoor activities, including boating and camping, as well as a collection of other activities such as agritourism or antique shopping.  Visitors can also tour a local museum or shop at a local mall during their free time. 
 

 

Kankakee County Convention and Visitors Bureau

The Kankakee County Convention and Visitors Bureau (KCCVB) works to attract and serve visitors to Kankakee County.  Chartered by both state and local governments in cooperation with private businesses, the KCCVB reinvests a portion of visitor-paid "room occupancy and tourism development tax" to advocate for local businesses and to expand the tax base. 

The Kankakee County Visitors Information Center provides visitors with information about the latest happenings in Kankakee County, and is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m from Monday to Friday.
