Looking for a place to hold a meeting or special event? Here are businesses and organizations that have space available.

  • Governors State University Kankakee Education Center can provide you with the space you need to offer a workshop, training or meeting for you and your staff. The Education Center is located in the heart of downtown Kankakee and surrounded by several restaurants within walking distance. The classrooms at the education center are state of the art and can accommodate up to 30 people. Contact Julie Anderson-Muniz at 815.935.2766 or go to www.govst.edu/kec.
     
  • The Kankakee Public Library (201 E. Merchant St.) has a large meeting room and several small conference rooms available for rent. The large room can seat up to 50 people, and the small rooms can accommodate eight. Please refer to the library Web site for rules about rental of the rooms and the cost.

  • Grouchos Coffee Shop & Deli (150 N. Schuyler Ave.) expanded in October of 2008 and now offers the "Majestic Theater Room." The private room, located off the main dining area, features seating for about 30 people. To reserve it, call (815) 935-5008.

  • Village Grill (135 S Schuyler Ave.) in Bradley has a separate dining area that holds up to 20 people. Call (815) 933-4004 to reserve the room.

  • Brickstone Restaurant & Brewery (557 William Latham Dr.) in Bourbonnais has a large back room available. Call (815) 936-9277 for more information.
