Kankakee
The Green Bag Recycling Program offers free curbside recycling. Residents can get 10 green recycling bags and 10 clear yard-waste bags each month for no cost by presenting their city utility billing stub at the following Kankakee locations:
• Aqua Illinois, 1000 S. Schuyler Ave.
• Girard’s Ace Home and Lighting Center, 1735 S. Schuyler Ave.
• Ultra Foods, Meadowview Shopping Center, 1200 N. Kennedy Drive
• Jewel Osco, 446 S. Washington Ave.
• Mario’s Market, 1557 W. Court St.
The items listed below can be recycled in green recycling bags. Plastics, glass, aluminum and paper need to be in separate bags.
• Paper: Newspapers, magazines, cardboard, brown paper bags, office paper
• Anything aluminum
• Plastics and styrofoam with the recycling symbol on them
• Rinsed brown, clear and green glass
Yard waste, including grass, weeds, small branches and twigs, can be combined in clear plastic bags. The recycling and yard waste bags are

Bourbonnais
ABC Disposal Co. collects recycling and yard waste on designated trash pickup days, and households are billed directly. Residents can get free recycling bags and yard waste bags by presenting their most current ABC Disposal bill at the following Bourbonnais locations:
• Bourbonnais Public Works Department, 225 Mooney Drive
• Jewel Osco, 655 Main St.
• Girard’s Ace Home and Lighting Center, 569 William Latham Drive
• Walgreens, 501 N. Convent St.
• Kroger, 633 Armour Rd. Bourbonnais
The following items can be combined in the same recycling bag:
• Glass
• Plastic
• Aluminum and steel
All bottles and jars need to be rinsed. A separate bag should be used for paper and cardboard. Yard waste, including garden vegetation and small branches and twigs, should be placed in clear bags that have ABC Disposal printed on them.

Bradley
Curbside recycling and yard waste collection is done on regular trash pickup days by United Disposal of Bradley. Recycling bins can be purchased for $5 at Bradley Village Hall, 147 S. Michigan Ave.
The following items can be combined in the bins:

Paper recyclables should be put in a separate bin. Yard waste should be put in paper bags for yard waste that can be purchased where trash bags are sold.

Kankakee’s A&J Disposal collects recycling every other Monday on
regular trash pickup days. Single-family residences are provided a
recycling container.

Grant Park
Allied Waste collects recycling and yard waste on regular trash pickup days. Recyclables can be combined in green bags provided free of charge at Grant Park Village Hall, at 106 W. Taylor St. Yard waste, including small branches and twigs and garden vegetation, can be put in trash bags and tied with yellow tags, which can be purchased for one dollar.

St. Anne
Kankakee’s A&J Disposal collects recycling on regular trash days. Recyclables should be placed in blue bags available free of charge at St. Anne Village Hall, at 100 S. Second Ave., and St. Anne Country Market, 189 W. Station St. Paper and cardboard can be combined, but a separate bag should be used to combine the following items:
• Glass
• Steel, aluminum and tin
• Plastics with a number one or two recycling symbol

Recycling drop-off sites
Aroma Park
Curbside recycling collection is not available. Aroma Park has had a problem with residents outside the community bringing in recyclables and prefers not to announce the address of its recycling site.
Herscher
Curbside recycling collection is not available. Recyclables can be dropped off in a bin located in the alley behind Leiser’s Furniture, 121 S. Main St.

Electronic Recycling
Kankakee County has electronic recycling program. Nearly all electronic items, such as computers, printers, cell phones, and hair dryers are accepted, but appliances, like washers and refrigerators, are not. The materials brought in are examined and donated to charitable organizations if they are still usable.
Electronics can be dropped off at Kankakee Public Works, at 401 West Oak St., or Bradley Public Works, at 210 East Broadway St., on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. For more information, call (815) 933-0444.
